MY STORY

Del Corazón Cakery is owned and operated by me, Kathy Velarde. I'm a passionate pastry chef that was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA. I always knew that I loved baking and decorating at a young age and I knew this was going to become my career. 1 month after graduating high school I went to start the Baking and Pastry program at Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena. In 2015 I successfully graduated with my Associates in Occupational Studies and received my Diploma in Patisserie and Baking. Working side by side successful executive pastry chefs has taught and molded me to become the pastry chef and cake decorator that I am today. I have created Del Corazón Cakery to share my passion and love for baking and decorating. I hope you taste the love behind everything I make.
